Luxury Chalets in Zell am See

A lakeside town, a glacier above it and a summer as good as the winter, with a private chalet at the centre of it all.

Why Zell am See

Zell am See is the most year-round of our resorts. The town sits on the shore of the Zeller See, with a car-free medieval centre, the Schmittenhöhe rising behind it and the Kitzsteinhorn glacier above Kaprun next door. It suits families, couples and anyone planning a summer trip as much as a ski week.

Skiing in Zell am See-Kaprun

The Schmittenhöhe offers about 77 km of slopes above the town, with family-friendly runs and long descents back to the lake. In Kaprun, the Kitzsteinhorn is the only glacier ski area in the Salzburg region and reaches 3,029 m, so skiing starts in October. The Ski ALPIN CARD adds the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn: 408 km of slopes and 121 lifts on one pass.

Summer in Zell am See

In summer you can ski the Kitzsteinhorn glacier in the morning and swim in the Zeller See the same afternoon. The Grossglockner High Alpine Road, 48 km of hairpins to Austria’s highest peak, is open from early May to early November. The Krimml Waterfalls, Austria’s highest, are an easy day trip. Summer stays run from two nights, with any arrival day.

Getting there

Salzburg airport is about 1 hour 15 minutes by car and Munich about 2 hours 30 minutes. Zell am See has its own railway station with direct trains from Salzburg, Innsbruck and Vienna. We arrange private transfers from all of them.
